Johnny Blaze was born in Costa Rica, but grew up in California. We consider him as one the biggest hip hop groupie in the world, there is no cd that he doesn't have!!(he even has every mixtape out there!!). His first contact with radio was 7 years ago when a friend of his hooked him up with Eric E.T. Taylor (also part of beatz 106) who at that time was producing, conducting, and mixing in a hip hop show called "103 Jamz" which aired on Radio 103 every Wednesday night. He started going to the show as a guest, because he was curious about how the show was done.

After a few conversations about who had more music (this is no joke!!), Eric, who was also the program director for that station decided that its was time to pass the program on to someone who would always keep up to date with all the hot and recent tracks, and who better than Johnny. Right away Johnny Blaze began training in the "Dark Arts of Djiing” and in a matter of 6 months he took over "103 Jamz" for the next 5 years.

Johnny has traveled to all the corners of Costa Rica with his music and equipment (the new Denon S-5000), playing at various private parties and clubs. With all that experience under his belt Beatz 106 knew that his dedication and love for hip hop music would make him a perfect candidate to become part of the Beatz 106 crew. We canst deny that talking to Johnny about hip hop is a hard task, just because he practically knows everything about the genre.
